Getting started

Varde counts visitors, pages, sources and goals on your site without cookies. Setup takes about two minutes.

Set up in three steps

  1. Add your site. Create an account and enter your domain (for example example.com) and the timezone your days should follow.
  2. Paste the script. Add this line inside the <head> of every page, with your own site ID:
    <script defer data-site="YOUR_SITE_ID" src="https://vardeanalytics.com/js/script.js"></script>
The script is about 1 KB gzipped, loads with defer and never blocks your page. See Install on your platform for Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, Framer and AI site builders.
  3. Open your site. Visit any page in a normal browser tab. The setup screen detects the first pageview, and the numbers show up on your dashboard within a few minutes.

What gets counted

  • Pageviews, including single-page apps that change the URL without a reload.
  • Visitors and visits, using an anonymous ID that resets every day (see Privacy).
  • Where people come from: referring site, UTM tags, country.
  • What they use: device type, browser and operating system.
  • Goals you choose, such as signups or purchases (see Goals and events).
Want to look around first? The live demo shows the full dashboard with sample data, no account needed.

Things that are not counted

  • Visits from bots, crawlers and headless browsers.
  • Visits from localhost and local files, unless you turn that on for testing.
  • Pages you exclude with data-ignore-pages.
